Happy New Year!

My winter break is slowly coming to an end.  I am still trying to enjoy every minute of it.  Josh is on vacation so it is wonderful that we can spend some time as a family.  Connor is really being spoiled!  I took these pictures of Connor this morning in the kitchen.  He was having fun trying to rearrange the chairs.  The shirt he is wearing the pictures was given to him by his great-grandmother (Josh's grandmother)  for Christmas.  Today we don't have anything spectacular planned. We will probably watch the ball drop in Time Square and toast with sparkling apple cider (not a fan of champagne, unless it is with orange juice). This year has really flown by... so much has happened.  Connor is growing so quickly!  He is starting to want to run and his vocabulary is really growing quickly.  I cannot even list all the words he has learned.  But it seems he learns a new word every couple of days.  My new year resolution is to lose weight.  I know it seems that is everyone's resolution but it is something I really need to work on.  I have been eating really well the last couple of days and exercising for about an hour each day.  Wish me luck!  The hardest part is not going to McDonald's for breakfast.  I love their Egg McMuffin.  Josh is really supporting me through this and helping by cooking healthy foods.  My other goal for the new year is to continue reading the Bible and following God's plan for my life.  It is really important to try and be an example of Christ and I don't always do that.  So I am going to really devote myself to becoming a better follower of Christ.  I also want to continue working on taking better photos.  I hope to take some family portraits this year of our family and also try to take others photos as well.  I think I have a lot of goals for the new year but I am going to persevere.

I also want to congratulate my cousin, Melissa!  She is going to be a mom!!  Her baby is due in June!  I am very excited to be an aunt!!

Viva Las Vegas

Sorry some of the pictures are sideways.  I am not sure why the computer won't let me flip them today.  Anyways, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  These are some of the photos from our trip to Vegas.  We had so much fun!  We went to two shows that were incredible.  We saw Mystere at Treasure Island and The Beatles Love show at Mirage.  I recommend them both.  They are both cirque de soleil shows and the people in the show are so talented.  We loved staying at New York, New York!  The hotel was really nice and we had a really nice room.  The only down fall on the trip was the food prices on the strip.  The food is so expensive even at McDonalds.  We wanted to try out a few fine dining restaurants, so we planned on eating less expensive meals most of the time and then going to a couple of really nice restaurants.  But, all the restaurants turned out to be expensive so we weren't able to do any really nice fine dining.  I wanted to check out Bobby Flay's restaurant in Caesars Palace, maybe next time.  We did eat at a really good sushi restaurant in Palazzo called Samba Sushi that was excellent and not too pricey.  Josh said it was the best sushi he ever had!  My favorite casino was the Wynn.  That place is incredibly nice!  They had opened the Encore casino the day before we left but we didn't have enough time to go and see it.  Connor also had a great time at Grandma's house.  He was very spoiled and got really attached to Papa.  It is good to be home and back to reality.  I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year's Day!

Merry Christmas

I finally have a Christmas picture of Connor uploaded.  I really wanted to have a Santa picture of him but it just was not Connor's plan.  I went to the mall on Sunday and stood in line to see Santa for an hour and he would not sit on his lap.  He was too scared of him.  He was fine watching him from a distance.  He actually blew him kisses and waved to him but he did not want to sit on his lap.  So I guess this year I will not have a Santa picture of Connor.  The best I can do is take a picture of Connor holding Santa.  I can't believe we are going to Vegas this weekend!  I am very excited.  It will give Josh and I an opportunity to celebrate getting through the first year as parents.  It has been an amazing year!  I hope Connor is good while we are gone.  My mom and dad will be taking care of him while we are gone.  Connor has battled having a fever for the last couple of days (it finally is getting better).  But, his sleep habits are all off- so I hope he sleeps well at Grandma and Papa's house.  I am not taking my good camera with me to Vegas, but I am taking my small camera to keep in my purse.  I will upload a couple of pictures when we get back.  I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Christmas is Coming!

I cannot believe it is almost Christmas! I have three gifts off my list- that is it! I have a very long ways to go. I never know what to buy anyone. It is very important that I get all my shopping done in the next couple of weeks because on the 20th we go to Vegas, and I want to be all done by then. I don't want to be shopping on Christams eve (the day after we get back from Vegas). I am very excited to go Vegas! Steve and Nancy bought us Mystre tickets for our Christmas gift. I am very excited to see it! I heard it is amazing. These are some of the pics from Connor birthday party. As soon as we take our Christmas pictures I will post them on page. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.

Happy Halloween!

It's going to be Connor's 2nd Halloween!  He makes such a cute superhero.  Josh is going to be Batman for Halloween.  When I take pictures of both of them I will load them onto my blog.  Connor is doing a great job of walking.  He still resorts to crawling sometimes but he seems to be walking a lot better.  He has really good balance, he just gets a little lazy.  I can't wait for next week to be over!  I have parent-teacher conferences this week and next week.  It is so much work and a lot of talking!  I cannot wait to say that I am finished with conferences!!  I hope everyone is doing great.  Have a very enjoyable Halloween!

Fall is here!

I can't believe it is fall already!  Next month is Connor's birthday!  I need to start moving on planning his party.  Time just seems to slip away so quickly!  Josh and I just bought a new computer.  We got a Mac and I absolutely love it!  It is a lot faster and it reads my raw photos so it is perfect for me.  This photo is the first photo that I have edited on my mac.  I think it turned out really well.  Our internet is still really slow, but that has to do with our internet connection not the computer.  I think when we are done with our contract we are going to look into something else that is a little faster.  Right now we have Alltel and it is just not fast enough.
Connor is still not walking.  He is taking a few steps but he is not quite walking yet.  He doesn't have a lot of motivation to walk and he is very content with his crawling.  We hope he will start walking by his first birthday but it is all up to Connor.  I hope everyone is doing well.

Precious Moments

I cannot believe how fast time goes by...it seems only yesterday we brought Connor home from the hospital. In just a few months he will be a year old! I've started thinking about his birthday party, I'm thinking of a sports theme. I even have ambitions to make a cupcake birthday cake myself (wish me luck)! I bought the tier holder for the cupcakes at Micheal's this weekend- on sale of course. Connor got his third tooth this weekend. He finally got one on top, we think it is the canine tooth but were not sure. I have never seen those teeth come in before the front teeth but I guess everyone is different. These are some pics that I took of Connor in the backyard. He absolutely loves playing with his fire truck. He especially likes to climb into the truck and stand on top of it (so dangerous). Hope everyone is doing well.
